What is your preference?

sorry - work intervened when I was busy making the damned poll. Frackin' work...

While I chose 2% (as it is my preference), my wife is both lactose intolerant and allergic to soy; thus I've been having rice milk in my cereal for at least 3 years now.

Rice milk is actually ok, and better than skim IMO. As for milk alternatives I'd rather have almond milk over any other kind... it's really good, but practically double the price of rice milk.

Oh and to make sure I don't loose my ability to digest lactose, I make sure to nip down to the food court at work and pick up a 500ml carton of 2% chocolate milk about once a week. :)

I have no idea what percentage UK milk is when it is semi skimmed. It might be 1.7% or 44% depending how you set the scale.

I love chocolate milk

Where's the choice for "ew, gross, none of them, sick!"
Weird, in the same day a thread about peanut butter and a thread about milk - the two foods I despise most...

I pretty much grew up with skim, so I can drink it and not be disgusted like some people. My father recently became lactose intolerant, so we almost never have milk around now anyway. He tried Lactaid milk and soy milk, and said they were both nasty.

I suppose if I had to pick milk to buy, it would probably be 1%.

I like that he has a choice tailored to bartelby's needs, too!

LOL! He does indeed!

I should state then when I feel the need to "drink milk" (e.g., float some Lucky Charms), it's 'Lactaid Milk', 2%.

1% or skim for me, although generally I'm not much of a milk drinker; in fact, I can't remember that last time I had milk when it wasn't in a bowl with cereal.

And although I have it rarely, I do enjoy silk soymilk (especially the chocolate!).

...And where's the option for strawberry milk?

Skim, Soy, and Chocolate.

I never drink regular milk though, only for cereal.
I read somewhere that the chocolate in chocolate milk prevents the absorption of calcium...

I've YET to get up the courage to try Soymilk. It's an expensive think to think tastes like crap.
Besides, those soybeans have tiny teats fer milkin'!!

Try the silk plain or vanilla, it's actually very good.

Chocolate and Mocha are beyond good.

try it, its great. especially the Silk brand.

its either soy (preferred) or 2% otherwise.

Breast is best!:D

When it was just me and the misses in our old flat we would buy two pints of semi-skimmed milk and it would go out of date a week later.

Now that no.1 son is on the scene, we go through loads of full fat. I bought 12 pints just before Christmas and had to go out for another 6 between Christmas and New Year.

Heaven knows what it will be like when no.2 son comes off the breast.
