Ordered my 27" iMac Feb 6th. Received it today booted up yellow tinge on bottom of the screen, and a yellow line about 2.5-3 inches thick was visible down the screen on a white background. After a few min the yellow line went away now I have a blue line in a different location on a black background. These lines are not visible on every color only black and white. I have not contacted Apple yet. Could this be from the cold of the FEDEX truck in PA?

That and I'm not certain I would have bothered ordering a 27" iMac at this point.

Yeah, I'm looking at getting an iMac in the next two weeks, and really don't fancy playing the "yellow tint lottery".

Hopefully Apple aren't still scratching their heads about what the hell is causing this..

I had the same wide blue line over black background problem with my iMac 27". I captured it on my HD cam and showed it to one of the apple store sales person on the day I returned my iMac for replacement. Too bad they don't have one in their current inventory so I returned it for full refund. I'll just wait it out.

I have a feeling they are. I'm receiving another i7 (5th) tuesday or monday. Apple shipped it by mistake instead of giving me a refund, so I'll check it out and more than likely send it right back. I look at it this way - in the summer I'll be able to take advantage of the back to school rebates.

i think its interesting that there are 21.5" iMacs in the refurb store, but not a single 27" model. screen issues must be so bad that they are having to junk them and can't resell them or fix them

I am going to wait a little bit to see the new updates and to make sure no problems in the next line. Good luck with everything.
