Got my iPhone 3G today

My brother has an iPhone 3G. He let me use hist Serial Number, so I requested an Advance Replacement iPhone. I did this last night. It arrived this morning. The buttons are clicky, so that good for me. There was a little scrach on the back, but I'm not going to complain. Its a week 39. I thought I would point out that it came with OS 3.1 pre-installed. I hope I don't have any coma issue that everybody's 3G has. I had the coma issues on my iPod touch. My iPhone 3G is a 16GB black. I will be paying $499 for it as I'm not returning my brothers.
I just stuck my ATT Pay As You Go Sim card ini it, connected to iTunes, and was good to go. No marrying the sim to the phone like on my 2G. I'm syncing all of my media to the big 16GB of storage right now. Just wanted to share.
 
if you're going to pay full price anyways.... why not just go to the store and buy it outright for full price.... with no contract?

your way makes NO sense whatsoever???????

YUP! I'm doing it right now. I also had Data DISABLED by AT&T so I won't accidentally get charged for data downloads. The iPhone has a tendency to like to download information in the background.
 
you should probably give the replacement phone to your brother as his serial number is now inactive in applecare's system, so if something ever happens and he calls in and needs it replaced they won't be able to do it due to an inactive serial number
 
He let me. His warranty runs out on SUnday. His iPhone is jailbroken. He only uses his iPhone as an iPod touch now. He said if it dies, he will get an iPod touch 32GB. He used a sidekick phone now. The $499 price is cheaper than the 3GS at $599. I want the 3G, not the 3GS.

That's for a brand new 8GB. I got a reserialized 16 GB iPhone 3G. Who cares if it's not brand spanking new. I knew what I was doing. I din need all of the included acessories. I have every single one. I have 3 brand new USB cables. Th user guide and cloth from my bro. I don't use the crappy include headphones either. I already have the cool small charger.

I knew what I was doing. I made my brother awre that his iPhone's warrenty would be gone. I feel it was money well spent. Don't forget that 90 day warrenty.

sounds pretty good, and with the fact that you got the warranty, and there's something wrong with it, you can get a new one..

refurbs are just as good as new ones imo..
 
Is there a point to having an Iphone without a data plan? There are plenty of other cheaper phones that play music and have wifi connectivity. A new 32GB Touch is only 299. Is it because it has a camera? A rather crappy one at that for 200 more? I don't get it.
 
As long as u got what u want....I'm happy for u....I don't do eBay or craigslist for certain things either...so I understand
