Upon recieving it back I had to pay 50£ for the repair which seemed to be a good price. However I did not receive a receipt and I was told I could only pay cash (obviously a sketchy operation). Then later, upon closer examination, I noticed that my laptop had been set to a completely different date and time, despite me never giving them my password. I am now worried they swapped out some parts or something...could this be possible?

As @Mr_Brightside_@ said, this is a result of the battery coming out, which probably reset the clock on the computer. There should be nothing wrong with it, just set the time back to normal and all will be fine.
