Got my mac mini connected to LCD but gettin no sound. ???

How come I'm not getting thru tv. I have mac mini connected thru dvi to hdmi cable. I thought that's all I needed???? Help ????

DVI doesn't carry an audio signal. You need to hook up the audio out to your TV or stereo.

Now Connect Audio

DVI from your Mac Mini does not carry audio signal. (just Video).
Now connect your Mac Mini audio output to TV audio input.

Unfortunately the DVI out does not transfer sound. You will need to also use something like this (http://store.apple.com/us/product/TN779LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0OQ&mco=MjE0NTA3Mw) to plug into the mac mini audio out and into either your TV or amp.

No, If you were using a AppleTV you only need the HDMI cable, HDMI carries both Video and Audio.

got it working

bought a cheap male to male y adapter and the sound is working great. ON this tv you just have to make sure that the hdmi port and audio port are the same .

i just bought a mac on ebay. overall im happy with the condition and functionality but i cant get any sound from anything on the internet (itunes works fine, apple.com works fine but nothing else). ive looked EVERYWHERE. the only thing i found was an article on the apple websitewhich doesnt provide a solution
