Hey all, First post, long time reader. Just thought I would let you all know that I got my Mac Pro for Work today. Took her out of the box, set her up. Hit the power button... light comes on, fans spin up... no video... no sound... Try re-seating the video card, reseting the SMC switch and do an Apple Option R and P. Nothing... same symptoms. I'm pissed. All of our Apple repairs at work have taken three weeks recently. And not only for my selfish desire, but for work related things, I need this tower up and running. Call Apple. Explain whats wrong and what I have done. 15 minuets later they have an RMA ready for me and a new tower on the way. A+ service from Apple.

Now I only hope that my personal tower coming later this week is not DOA...

In a house.
 No!! I hope this is just an isolated case. I am hearing nothing but great things about this machine. That is really disappointing to hear though.

MacInTouch had a DOA MacPro as well. They reseated the memory riser cards and all was well:

"Our Mac Pro arrived promptly, shipping the night of the WWDC keynote and arriving early the next morning thanks to expensive overnight shipping. Our excitement turned to disappointment and concern when the computer appeared to be dead-on-arrival: we pushed the power button, and the power light flashed, but nothing else transpired – no startup sound, no disk access, no video, no life.

Hoping against hope, we disconnected the power cord, opened the case again and reseated the memory riser cards (which we hadn't touched previously). After closing the case, we hit the power button, and the Mac Pro finally came to life, with no problems since. "

Yes, I tried to talk them in to Next Day air. I even explained the last one came that way. The looked it up said, no it came ground from "over seas". It came from California. Did not want to deal with all the paper work that my work would make me do to add the additional charge.

Oh... and they said it will ship by August 21st.

Sorry, just ranting.

Saw that. I re-seated the risers as well. No luck. All of the diagonistic LED's came back good. Including both risers.
