Got my MacBook, how to test everything is alright?

Hey guys,

I've just opened my MacBook, and I should receive my 2gigs of RAM in the next few days. Consequently, I'd like to know what I should to to test everything is alright, and if my MB is not victim of the previous known issues like heat or whatever was reported in the past few months.

What should I be looking at to make sure everything is alright with my model, any specific thing to do or check?

Also, how should I install my RAM, one chip at a time then run the test...?

Well - go get a temp. measuring app such as MenuTemperature and run some apps for a while to test the temperature is what I would do. The normal temp. for a MacBook is around 55-70 *c for me. I would spend 2-3 days testing before installing the RAM.

What should I do not to have static electricity in my body when I install the RAM? I don't want to damage the chip, and thought you guys had experience with that.

Just discharge yourself on a grounding piece of metal on your macbook.
