So I got my macbook after a month of waiting. i'd read all about the moos etc on MR and hoped I woulnd't get one that did it.

After using it for abiout an hour, I heard a faint "cow mooing" noise. It took a couple of seconds before I realised what it was! is there anything I can do to stop it? I don't know yet whether it'll annoy me or not. I can only really hear it when I'm listing for it

I have not found anything that will stop it. Fortunately, however, it's quiet (for me, anyway), and it only happens when the temperature is around 68 C. Much lower and it's silent; much higher and the fans stay on. So IMO it's not a big deal...

Mine at 69-69 range...their is definately a noise associated with the fan turning on...but It is so quiet and unobtrusive that I would never have called it a "moo" had it not been for these forums.
