OK so I got my macbook pro and I'm loving it, but I am a gamer that loves his counterstrike so I'm going to install bootcamp. i was reading up on what needs to be done before I actually install boot camp and begin installing windows. I read that I need to check my boot rom version and smc version and make sure they match up to this:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303880

well I looked at my system's info and it's got the boot rom version of the 15", but the SMC version of the 17". My MBP is indeed 17" (I measured). I've heard stories of people installing boot camp and having their updater tell them everything's good, but boot camp will refuse to work because their boot rom version or smc version is wrong.

My question is: What to do!?

It should work out of the box then. The Boot ROM thing was only an issue back when Boot Camp was released last year.

Ok that's good, but I'm also really picky about things like this...They just bug me for some reason. Any chance I can get the boot rom version I'm supposed to have? Even though it may work with both?
