I ordered a Seagate HD from NewEgg.com and it arrived in a brown box with just a packing slip and no instructions.

Can anybody point me to some simple instructions on how to install it in my G5. Is it plug-n-play or do I have to run some OSX processes as well?

I assume you have a powerMac G5 (as there isn;'t room in an iMac G5 for a second drive ;) )
The G5 has the mounting screws and cables already there in place. The screws are screwed into the chassis of the drive bay for safe keeping.

Install your drive by screwing the hemispherical mounting scrws into the drive, slide it in, attach cables.

When you boot the machine up, go into APplications/Utilities/Disk Utility and locate the new drive in the list that comes up. Do an Erase (or a Partition) on it, and you're good.
