I got my new 20: c2d iMac and i love it! But the last couple of days i've noticed a tiny black speck on the lower, right part of the screen. I'm wondering if this is what they call a "Dead Pixel"? Say if i did have a dead pixel...what will apple do about it? I purchased the Apple Care with the iMac so I should be completely covered...What do you guys/girls think about it?

Thanks in advance!

It does sound like a dead pixel. If there's only one, and it's out of the way, consider if it's worth the hassle of getting it replaced. There's no absolute guarantee that Apple will go along with it, but they have no set policy on dead pixels, so dogged persistence would probably achieve a result, eventually.

I gotta be honest here, there are a ton of conflicting views on how apple will handle this. Search "dead Pixel" and you will see several populate. Is it something you can live with? I know what is not what you want to hear when you buy a product as wonderful as the one you purchased.

Sounds like a dead pixel. And yes, Apple could replace it without any hassle, or , you could have a hell of a time with the support.

I say, just forget about it. I've got two dead pixels on my laptop, no big deal. I only see them If I try to.

Apple does not have to replace your screen for one bad, out of the way pixel (although they might). I would try Pixel Fix and then ignore it if that didn't work.

Sorry, but Pixel Fix only fixes stuck pixels. Dead ones are there for good.
