Very happy to report that I got my new MBP this afternoon! I ordered it online on 8 August and got it 4 days later. I was told I would get it on the 21 August. Way to go Apple...already exceeding my expectations.
I was a little hesitant to order it at first, not because of Merom but because of all the reports of hissing sounds, over heating etc. I have NONE of that. I've left it running for a good few hours already. My vaio which I still have (and only 1 year old) makes a lot more noise and is much hotter. My MBP is very quiet and not hot at all. I also upgraded it to the 7200rpm HD which has added no extra stress judging from the quiet and cool operation. The serial number starts W8632....
Hope those of you that recently ordered new MBPs are as happy as I am. I have had a little time to play around with it, and I couldn't be happier. Everything DOES just work...(ok, most things do when they're brand new) but everything from the OS to the casing is so beautifully designed. I love my new MBP!

ooh well, they dont bother me that much, so i'll send it in later, its good to know apple is addressing these problems.
