Okay, so I am enjoying my new iPad 3G 64GB, but perhaps a little TOO much. I've already spend over $150 on upgraded apps/books/comics/magazines just in the past week! Everytime I see something new, I feel like a kid in a candy store now... "Oh, a new HI-RES version of the app... gotta buy it, gotta buy it!"

Has anyone else been hypnotized into watching their wallet empty??

I think I've spent 3 bucks on paid apps, but I've been downloading free apps until my index finger bleeds.

I totally hear you!!!

Im not spending super much in the app store, but im thinking of collecting all the accessories that apple puts out, which is probably a dumb idea LOL

We are getting so many slots games it could be costing me more then just going to Vegas!
But they kick arse on the iPad.

I'm mostly in the free or 99 cents zone so far. Nothing super impressive at those prices other than good reader. With the other key apps I am probably up to around 100 bucks altogether....

So whats your impressions on these so-called "HD" versions guys? Are they any better or just scaled up?

I don't mind paying twice for an app, but the upgraded version had better have great graphics :)

I love Words with Friends HD. It is essentially a scaled up version, but it looks beautiful, and it makes it much easier to play the game.

If anyone fancies a game, my user name is jfrowen.

I've only purchased one app, and am very cautious about making purchase on the app store.

That said, I can't stop buying Marvel comics D: It's too easy, and they're only $1.99...I'm being nickel-and-dimed by that app. T_T

BTW, to the original poster, I don't think that I am quite that much (obvious denial, right? ;) ), but I have spent my share of time browsing the app store.

I'm just waiting for some of my most used apps to get upgraded. Hopefully, they will be integrated and not fee based upgrades.

I'm also finding that I use my iPhone less and less since I got my 64GB 3G version.

I don't have the bank that the OP obviously has so NO, I can't afford to buy any iPAD App/Game I feel like. I have to be very careful with what I buy. I have bought several itunes cards, I got about $50 some dollars in credit, so I am good for now.

I'm right there with you, though I don't think I have hit quite that much. So far:

NFS Shift - $15
Scrabble - $10
N.O.V.A. HD - $7
X-Plane 9 $10
Geometry Wars - $10
Early Edition - $5
Pinball HD - $2
And a handful of other smaller ones...

Guess that puts me at about the $50-$75 level.

And by the way, most of them look/play incredible!!

I've found that iPhone games that I've already paid coin for work just as good as the iPad apps, so far.

I keep an eye on PandorasBox and Appshopper so I can find free apps. I've learned all too well that a bulk of the apps I pay for go untouched or are difficult to play on such a small screen as my iPod Touch. And I don't like to just throw money away all willy nilly.

Ahhh...Just the user Steve and company were looking for...;) I'm up to about $50, but have about another $25 spent...just haven't downloaded them yet...:D

I find the appstore navigation to be very poor. Specifically, I saw a review on Copilot HD which I searched for and found in the Navigation category (but I used the search function). Wanting to know what other navigation apps were available I then browsed by category, and Copilot was not one of the options?

I wonder how many more apps I am missing out on because of this?

Asphalt 5 is pretty awesome. Going to download Angry birds and check that out tonight, heard a lot of good things about that one

But to the initial HTML abused post, no I don't buy every app I see. After you've had an iPhone for years you suddenly find yourself being more selective (smart) about app purchases.
