That's weird, Mine is 2 months old and is perfectly even. In fact, the LEDs under the keyboard should last for hundreds of hours.
Ouch. I'm guessing that you've already spoken with Apple (which is how you got the one week estimate right?). I'd say that you should get it replaced when you think you don't need it. IE, if you're going to go on a trip where a laptop would be pointless, or if you'll be able to use a different computer while yours is under repairs. I can't think of a good solution for you
Because that really helps the OP with his actual question![]()
I haven't spoken with Apple yet. I think I'm going to bring it by the Apple store this weekend. Maybe I am better off just calling. I'll be using my lovely PC (build in 2000 and not upgraded since) which will be painful, but make me appreciate my Mac even more when it comes home.
Tell them that your keyboard doesn't light up on one side and that you need this feature quite often. Mention that you bought the macbook pro because of this feature.
Question: Are you a gamer?
That's just an evil trick. But it totally works. Don't worry though, Apple has great services. Hope all goes well with your MBP.
seems to me that the bundle of fibre optic cables that run the light from the led(s) to the back of the keys has moved off center, and the ones that used to light that group of keys are no longer picking up the light. have you ever been inside a mac notebook? if so, you may be able to fix it yourself.
It's not an evil trick; it's just positioning. The people who handle customer calls deal with things like this all the time. In order to make yourself stand out more, you have to make yourself a little more "special" than everyone else. It's just business.
Agreed. But if every1 uses this "special" technique. Every1 won't be THAT special would they? Most people do that often and Apple just don't care that much about whether it's valid or not. They just concentrate on "providing the best service" available.![]()
