if you work for the government, make sure you tell them at the apple store...

I got an 8% discount on my new imac. :D

that took $95 off the price.

seems that apple won't mention this discount, so make sure you do.

its funny, ive used macs for 16 years.. i've bought perhaps 7 macs new in that time...

when I went in the apple store, I told them this, and said do i get any special discounts? They said no. .

by chance, I had my work shirt on, which prompted them to ask "do you work for the govt"? Yes? "do you have your id"?

Had I not asked or brought up discounts, I would of paid full price.

Hm, is it a flat 8%? That's better than the EDU discount (although the current free iPod w/ EDU purchase is a better deal). I'd check the Apple store myself, but it's down fore the iPod event.

im not sure what flat 8% means? It was 8% of 1200... $95 or so. thats all I know. :)

I meant flat 8% as in just 8% off whatever any machine costs, or if it varies by machine like the EDU pricing (you get $50 off the base iMac, $100 off the other iMacs, for example).

Apple store is still down, so I can't look. :p
