I was driving somewhere new last night and plotted out my course using Google Maps + GPS.

During my travel, I tapped the GPS/locate button twice so it would kick in the compass feature, showing which direction I was heading on the map, as seen below:

The whole time I was driving, the "headlight" of my GPS location was reversed. So instead of it facing east, which was the exact direction I was heading - the GPS compass was shining west... all while my blue dot was traveling east.

Anyone else?

If the phone was upright the compass may have got confused. It works best for me when flat.

Btw, did you screenshot on iPhone 4? Because the location icon you have in the bottom left is only in os 3 and earlier.

I just stole that image from Google. Not actually mine.

And thanks for the tip. I'll see if that helps next time.

Hopefully you got this resolved. My 3GS was doing something similar. The headlight was always pointing 45 degrees to the left of where I was facing.
