So I have my iPhone 3GS love it. Problem is the battery life sucks - no surprise. I am looking for an app that would essentially have profiles to enable/disable wireless services depending on where I am by default. Ex. When I am home I need wifi, but not bluetooth. When I am in my car or away from home I don't need wifi, but need bluetooth for handsfree drving. What are my options? Thankx:confused:

jailbreak it. there is one app by rock your phone that does that. but after bit I found their stuff tended to cause problems. that may have changed but I have not re installed all the stuff I bought because it was really slowing down my phone. profiles will let you set times and gps locations to turn your stuff on and off. but it can really drain your batteries. using sbsettings makes it easy to turn things on and off manually.

Thanks. Sbsettings does work for me if I don't forget. I will give this other app you suggested a try.

as long as you just use time it may be ok. but if you use gps location it will check your location often and kill your battery. I only tried the app while it was in beta. bi for the most part the apps from that source have caused problems. they were fine till they added the rock your phone apps that keep track of the apps. elert was great it was free then they did a upgrade and it really slowed my phone down. haptic pro was good for bit then started causing problems. ismart dialer worked then after a couple of updates never worked again. but that could have been missing some files. it was working then it stopped. but it used to be separate from rock your phone.call controller caused a lot of problems.

i actually tested location services last night as a friend and i were talking about GPS in sleep mode.

Using SBSettings, i normally keep location services off until i need it. I charged my phone to 90% and yanked the plug. Normally with my phone in sleep mode i use about 1-2% at the most. When i woke up this morning, my phone was at 78%. This was about 7 hours time in stand by, only turned on this morning to check the time.

Of course, this is how accurate Battery Control is, however, its for certain noticeable battery drain with location services turned on.

In fact, turning it off has been the best single change ive done to increase battery life.
