I guess the new update helped with GPS accuracy because it's dead on now. It was always off a block or two especially when I was inside a building. Now it seems to be dead on even inside.

just the stock google maps app. I'm still trying to decide on which GPS app to buy. I feel better about it now that the GPS seems to be more accurate.

FWIW, my GPS accuracy has always been spot on from the beginning (well, since I purchased the 3G) while using Google, G-Map, and a few other GPS apps. But I'm glad to hear that for ya, OP.

Same here. Mine was never off more than 10-15 feet at absolute most.

Opencyclemap question

Does anybody know if it is possible to download LARGE sections of the OpenCycleMap map and then ue it offline with an application?

I know a couple of the apps will allow caching of maps but it would be great to have an offline complete UK map for instance, for when you have a very limited 3G signal (90% of the UK)

You should check OffMaps app

I have offmaps, but there are two problems with it:

1: as I said in my post, I'd like to download the complete UK map
2: I'd like to download the complete UK map

oh yes...3. I'd like to download LARGE sections of the OpenCycleMap, which isn't available on offmaps, although the author said he was thinking about it.

Ah ok I thought your 1st criteria was that it is an offline map :) This download limit in OffMaps does suck a bit. I don't really understand why it is limited.

No problem. I looked on their Twitter blog and others have asked for the 150MB limit to be increased but they say they still consider it to be reasonable.
I'd say it was the fact that if it was increased, they would have to pay more for their server provider.

Never mind.

Navigon has been nothing short of incredible. I highly recommend it.

S-

+1. I was really apprehensive about it because of the cost. However after using it for 12 hours straight (long road trip), I wouldn't have wanted anything else.

Just make sure to get a good windshield mount.
