I use it. I am happy with what it does considering it is on a phone, but it is nothing like a dedicated unit.

I use it mostly on hikes, and feel that it works well. There are occasional signal dropouts, but I am sure those are receiver-related, and are not the fault of the program...

The newest version improved this app a lot. It does seem to take longer to get a GPS signal than the other apps I've tried but it has a lot of features and can display a good amount of customized data fields on the front screen.

I've also used GPS Compass and TrackThing, which both have their positive points. TrackThing is free and with a few more features could easily be the best.

I ended up buying it. I like the topo map feature. I just wish someone would come out with onboard maps. Sometimes I hike where there is no cell coverage, and I don't have any maps to go by. GPSkit is still pretty good though.

Yes I am sure you know that now they do cache maps - not as good as just having all the maps on the phone but a lot less space used this way.

Also I would like to mention in the latest version there is an Easter Egg that is quite cool, but am still waiting to know if they want me to post about it on the web or not - guess it will have to wait.

Will you stop digging up EVERY old thread about this app? GPSKit is definitely NOT worth the money, Wish I could get my money back, but live and learn .. MotionX GPS is by far the better choice at a fraction of the cost.
