If I had the 4850 and the i7, would the i7 still give improvements to gaming and such, or is the 4850 going to completely bottleneck it? I am worried it will.

CPU doesn't have nearly the impact on gaming as the GPU.

The 4850 is going to be far more of a bottleneck since you've got a desktop CPU and mobile GPU.

Would the i7 increase performance at all? I've seen the iMac run crysis on high and it runs it fine, so the 4850 should be good. Might end up waiting for hte next refresh, hopefully get a better graphics card.

Do the iMacs usually get an update every 6 months, or is it 12. I think buyin one now would still be good if I got the money, but would also like a better card. Guess that's not important though, as long as I can play games on high at 30 fps, which this can.
