Can someone give me a run down of the different military-shooter games?

I'm interested in GR: Future Soldier, Battlefield 3, Call of Duty (whatever the newest one is). They seem like they're all the same game with a different story line. Am I missing something? Preferably, I'd like a 3rd person view, but, I realize FPS (which makes me motion sick at times) is standard for these games.

Thanks in advance!

...ok... let's not all speak at once. ;-)

...what about this: what's your favorite game and why? Have you played the other ones?

Those three games actually are distinct from one another in some significant ways. I'd recommend you head over to www.gamespot.com and do a search on each one and either view the video review or written review for each along with the user feedback and ratings for them. This should help you get a good idea of which of these would most suit your fancy.

I can tell you my personal opinions. I've played each on either the Mac or Xbox.

GR: Future Soldier: More realistic and slow paced than the others. I haven't played it on the Mac, but the multiplayer on the XBox was buggy as hell. It pretty much ruined the game IMO. But it does have an over th shoulder 3rd person view.

BF3: Great game and a lot of fun. This would be the one I recommend, IF you've got decent computing power to run it. It's resource hungry in that department. But being able to pilot aircraft and climb into tanks is a lot of fun and add some variety to the normal FPS.

COD MW2: Well, if you've played any Call of Duty games in the last 5 years then you've pretty much played this one. Same thing, different maps. That's not to say it isn't good, because it is, but after playing Modern Warfare and Black Ops, I got burned out of this one pretty quickly.

Yep, I've been looking at the GameSpot reviews. I still don't know what I want.

Thank your for the input. I'm going to look into BF3. I have a friend who wants to get me playing that.

I have a rMBP that I just got! Wii! And I have Win7 Home Basic (x64) installed on there. Hallelujah!
