I'm looking for an app that will allow my to digitise the x,y coordinates of points of interest on still images. My usage will be to extract data from graphs.

Two Mac apps that I am aware of that would allow me to do this are:

GraphClick http://www.arizona-software.ch/graphclick/
ImageJ http://rsbweb.nih.gov/ij/

Graphclick, in particular, seems ideal but I just wonder if anyone knows of any others that are worth considering before I purchase it.

ImageJ is much more the image analysis application than the digitizing application. As for GraphClick, I use and love it. There was a GraphClick competitor named Data Reader. Data Reader's author says that GraphClick is better.

Thanks. GraphClick does appear to be a fantastic app at amazing value. Even before I posted the question, it did seem futile to try to find something better at similar value for money. I did find another app - DigitizeIt but its clearly inferior to GraphClick and much more expensive too.

On the topic of generic image analysis applications, are you able to suggest anything other than ImageJ? I just use it for basic features of area measurement and angle measurements. I have no major issue with ImageJ for these tasks, just curious as to what else is out there.

Hi folks,

If anyone is interested, we have launched a free graph digitizer. You can use it to extract 1000's of points on a spectral curve in seconds. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
