Grapher is awesome is so many ways, but the animation output is huge.

I have a set of ~15 parameters that feed into two equations that describe two (2D) ellipses. The two ellipses are the only things I plot. But when I do a simple 10-frame animation of one of the underlying parameters, the animation file is 100+ MB. (Strangely, when I did more frames, the size was ~55 MB.) That means I can't use it in any presentation.

Also, when I use QuickTime and try to export to lower resolution, I get "The operation could not be completed: an unknown error occurred."

Any suggestions on how to manage the size down to ~5 MB or less?

Thanks much.

I have a practical resolution: if I open and save in QuickTime7, the file size drops to 90 kB (factor of 1200...). Not sure I can count on that working in 1 or 2 OS updates, so it would be good if Grapher could de-bloat a bit.
