On both my MacBook Air M2 and Mac Pro (2023) when I preview an image with Quick Look in Messages where there are multiple images, and swipe among them, a trail of graphic artifacts is produced outside the window. See attached screen recording.

I’ve also seen this in Notes when there is swipeable content. Each of the machines I’ve reproduced it on has different users. I’ve been using the MacBook Air for 7 months but I just unboxed the Mac Pro last night and set it up with a freshly created Apple ID and iCloud account. It happened on Ventura 13.4.1 and happens on 13.5.

I haven't had any luck searching for discussions about this behavior, possibly because I don’t know the term that describes this kind glitching. I’d like learn more about it before I engage Apple Support. Is it only happening on my two machines? Only M2s? Ventura? Is it a well known issue? Basically, has anyone else seen this?

Thanks.

Have the exact same issue. MBP M1 ventura 13.6 and MBP 15 2014 ventura 13.6 with oclp 1.1.
it happens only when swiping with the trackpad or the magic mouse. Swiping with the arrow keys is ok.

I just reproduced it on macOS Sonoma 14.0 on a M1 machine. My judgement is that it's extremely likely to be a software bug, so I just filed a bug through Apple's Feedback Assistant.
