MP 1,1-5,1 Graphic card and upgrades

Hi, everybody... How are you?
I have a little issue and I hope you can help me with it...
I bought a Mac Pro for working on photoshop and final cut... I’m not a tech specialist but I think that it’s not bad... But I want to ask you, for working on videos and pictures as photographer, what do you upgrade?

The GPU is very old and tends to fail. Also it is not Metal compatible for Mojave or Catalina.

When youre located in Germany I can make you some offers ;-)

yep MIKX listed the best options, and you dont need to flash most the time it's just plug and play with the cards listed.
for finalcut X you want to use a AMD card.

to use a RX 580 on a 3,1 is not ideal as you will have to hack the os for SSE4.2

MP3,1 (& others?) SSE 4.2 emulation (to enable AMD Metal driver)

I don't believe those work with the 3,1 either in High Sierra for the same SSE4.2 reason as the RX580.
Adding one kext to emulate some missing SSE 4.2 instructions can hardly be considered as 'hacking the os' especially when you consider the 3,1 wasn't supposed to run Sierra or High Sierra to begin with.

RX 580 + AAAmouSSE + refind bootloader (boot screen with standard PC card) works great.

Here is a guide that I think a few are looking for to help them open the door to other options outside of Nvidia Kepler GPUs like the GTX 680 that are rather old and quite expensive. I'm going to do my best to break this into two sections, one about getting boot screen with a stock PC RX 580...
