Hi,
I want to gift my old mac pro early 2009 (2.66 GHz quad core. RAM 10 GB) to a friend of mine's brother.
Probably he's going to use it for gaming most of the time, so he need to buy a good graphic card.

Apple certified cards are too expensive compared to not certified ones.

Can someone suggest me any good third parties cards that can be compatible, without spending more than 150€?

Thanks

All Nvidia PC cards from GTX 4xx to GTX 6xx are possible since Mountain Lion. GTX 7xx cards since Mavericks.

Some cards need external power supply, so cards with 6-Pin connectors should be preferred.

For GTX 9xx cards you need to have installed OS X Yosemite with latest Nvidia web drivers.
