I have experienced a growing number of graphical issues.

1. In wow it start with glitches, but if the game continues, it ends with a complete freeze of the Imac, with no opportunity to exit the game or bring any other app. in use

2. Often when i start, graphic errors is displayed, like this one:

- notice the black around the box and the shades of grey in the left side of the screenshot. also, sometimes when i start the Imac, lots of squares in pink is in the right bottom of the display.

3. In Mozilla Firefox and Safari... thin crunchy lines appear from left to right, on top of all the content on the websites.

I have an iMac (2.16 GHz) with dualcore. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT chipset from the factory (all is as it where from the factory)

I hope someone can help, it really drives me insane!
thanks in advance

If you have apple care head to the nearest Apple Store or call 1800myapple because it looks like you're video card is toast my friend.

Ditto on what the above poster said. I wouldn't chance using the computer any longer. I would definitely do a backup of you data and send in for repairs right away.

Thanks for quick answers, but unfortunately is the mac too old for applecare.
I reckon the cost of repair could escalate to prices not meant for students... but I will make backup as quickly as possible

thanks again.

you can still send it but it will cost ya some money. the problem of iMac is that the video card is unchangeable. in the factory they can do it I think but you cant do it by urself
