I apologize if my topic is covered in another thread, I checked and didn't find one. I believe my graphics card is going on my mid-2011 iMac. I am beginning to see occasional pixelation. I have decided once it goes to replace my iMac by using my 2015 MacBook Pro with an external monitor. My question is can anyone give me a possible time frame for when the card will finally die. I am curious how long I have to decide on a replacement monitor. Thanks!

Thank you Keysofanxiety, would you mind expanding on what GFX is so I can do more research?

Gfxcardstatus is a small application (linked in my original post) that switches between the internal graphics card and the discreet one. You can therefore set your iMac to use the internal graphics only.

It’ll take seconds to install, it’s a very small program.

It seems the Gfxcard is only good for Macbook Pro, It is my Imac that has issues.
