Hello all,
I have a late 2009 27" iMac with the HD 4850 graphics card, which has failed. Looking online right now these parts go for about $200, which is manageable but a lot to ask for such an old machine. But I still would like to the machine repaired. Looking around I've seen that the HD 5750 graphics card from the mid 2010 27" iMac will work in the late 2009. I've found a 5750 that is way less expensive than a 4850, and wanted to confirm if a HD 5750 would work in a late 2009 27" iMac? Thanks.

Upon opening the iMac to get to the graphics card, I discovered that several of the internal cables were unplugged or damaged, and that the graphics card wasn't even seated correctly in the MXM slot. I'll be ordering replacement cables and reseating the video card to see if this fixes my issue.
