So I am researching my upcoming Mac purchase like mad... And I keep wondering whether graphics cards are easy to upgrade. If I buy a game that requires 256 MB could I easily upgrade my iMac or MBP?

no go for there - if you want the best GPU in either get it when you buy it

no upgrades for GPU after you bought them

If you are doing "heavy research", you should know that only tower Macs have upgradable videocards

I do now. Why would the simple fact that I am doing research like mad mean that I know this? If I had the knowledge I was looking for, I wouldn't be looking for it.

Because you are saying that you research like mad :D

Anyway, is there a laptop with upgradable video card? Im not talking about 2 inch thick ones

Or a mad researcher?

:)

Anyway, iMacs are wonderful if you want a computer to do things with, if you want a degree of "Future Proofing" then the big Cheese Grater Tower of Power is your best bet.

Of course the Intel flavoured Cheese Graters will be here soon....
