Graphics Dilemma

Hello all!

I currently have a iMac G4 1.25 GHz 17" Flat Panel. I have a stock graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra) and 786 (around that) ram. I need to buy a new computer for the upcoming school year (that's what I say to my parents ) but I really just want a gaming computer upgrade. I was really thinking about getting the new macbook (black 2GHz), but I am not so sure about the video card. I have a few questions:


1. Will that be enough (graphics card and procceser wise) to play World of Warcraft smothely?

2. Are they going to upgrade the video card in the Macbooks at any time in the near future?


3. My main question is can you guys give my some ideas as to what I should get (laptop wise) that will be good for WoW? And if I need to wait for Macbook upgrades?

Misc info: My budget is a black macbook, but I may be able to get a macbook pro if i try really hard. idk if there is any difference int he graphics card.

p.s. From what i've researhed, the video "card" is part of the mother board and can't be removed, so there for it can't be upgraded. Is there no slot or someting for another video card or graphics upgrade? Thanks.

macbook pro would be much better than the macbook b/c the former has a nice x1600 in there while the macbook has 64MB integrated video. my friends say they can play wow on the macbook alright, but sometimes during large fights it chugs. the macbook pro would run wow beautifuly, but they are much more.

I would run WOW in near full settings in full resolution on my macbook pro. It worked and looked beautiful. But I dont see how you will have any time to play. I gave it up because I know I wont. But then I am a pre-med/german double major and working 26 hrs a week.

i have a macbook and use some 3d apps, id say try to convince your parents to get you a macbook pro, butt if not get a macbook and up the RAM to a gig plus, i run a gig and it runs nicely but 2 gig is worth it, get it from macsales.

you would see clearly see the difference between a macbook and a pro... i think i saw a tech review where the fps for the mb was around 20fps while the pro was around 60. and running it in windows prolly has even higher fps.
