Hi everyone,

I'll try to keep this as brief as I can! The logic board on my 2012 MacBook Pro died so I found a 2011 device and was able to transfer my SSD with OSX (alongside the RAM) over. While it is functioning well, animations flicker constantly (and the full window flickers constantly on brave/chrome). Aside from that the webcam in this machine isn't recognised either.

Am I right in thinking that the issues are because my original OSX still thinks it's running the parts from the 2012 model? Is that where the compatibility issue comes from?

If so, what can I do to remedy it? Thanks so much, been doing lots of searching but not finding much!

Thanks all, and excuse the ignorance!

Thank you both for your responses! In the end I upgraded to High Sierra and that did the job!

Could I ask what you'd recommend OSX wise? Would it be worth upgrading further?

Thanks again!

What are/were the MacOS installed on both? The same?

MBP Late 2011 is limited to High Sierra.

MBP Mid-2012 is limited to Catalina.
