i have an imac, 2.8 24 ATI NX2600

under windows, i sometimes face this problem where the screen colours are awful, maybe a screenshot is better to describe it

the billiards table is supposed to be fully green and no gradients. u can also see that the task bar and firefox title bars are affected.
and i am sure it is not the games that make it like that as i dont do games, except for that flash game.

the sound coming from the butin speakers and the headsets is awful and contains noise

i this happened when i was the boot camp 1.4 drivers and i updated it with the ones that came wtih leopard but still the same.

the sound in always awful while display only sometimes gets weired.
i am positng this in different locations as it is related to different forums.

hope someone knows the problem and of course a solution.
thanks

oh god, this is the first time i look at it from anywhere other than xp where the problem is. and it is clear and nothing is odd.
i am actually seeing this from the same mac under tiger now.

maybe next time i shoot the screenshot using a camera.

i will try explain the problem in words.

basically instead of displaying nice and sharp picture like the one u see. my display displays blured non black objects and the colours are mixed and there are identified patterns to it like vertical bars.

god help me as i cant even tell u what the problem is.

I don't think that supernatural invention is really necessary at this point. :)

From your description, it seems that the GPU is not working properly under XP. The first thing to check (in MacOS X) if you got and installed the ATI graphics update for the iMac. If it was installed installed on your iMac, you can run it again from the Apps/Utilities folder.

Next, under Windows, you can download and install an updated driver for the iMac from ATI's homepage. If your screen is still looking bad, you should probably contact Apple and ask for support.
