I've been getting amazing battery life on iOS 5.1.1 and generally since I purchased the 4S. All updates were OTA. I get around 8 hours of heavy usage with 2 - 2.5 days of standby. Heavy usage means 3-4 hours gaming like zenonia and monsters ate my condo, messages, a couple of long calls, web surfing. I love how I never need to toggle my wifi or GPS. They are always on, as with all push notifications from twitter, facebook etc. Coming from a bad experience with an android phone where I used to worry about turning everything off and even then I'd get 12 hours of total battery life in standby. In standby mode with not much going on it can go for atleast 4-5 days. Here are some pictures, with heavy use and on standby where my battery dropped only 2% in 11 hours this is with everything including wifi connected. And if anyone is curious I owned a motorola XT720 before this.

I think this is fairly impressive for a 2 year old phone. It's an iPhone 4 running 5.1.1 also. Prior to that update I wasn't getting anywhere near as much battery life.

One thing that might be a factor in my case. My country's carriers haven't rolled out 3G yet. Yes lol funny as now the whole world is moving to LTE. Maybe that impacts how much battery is used in standby. As for gaming ive played Zenonia for 9 hours on a single charge, 8 hours for games like Dungeon Hunter. I've played so much theres a part in the upper left corner of the screen where the D pad is, there the oleophobic coating has worn off lol. So I get fingerprints only in that one small area. My phone is new around 4 months old. One thing that truly sucks battery life is facetime. I go down 20-30% on a long facetime call.

This is My Battery life on Standby, i think is good battery life for an iPhone 4s... or im wrong? >.<

I have the same phone & I am running the same version of IOS and I don't get battery life like that. the not having 3G is what is saving your battery bro if you really don't have it because even in the settings it tells you to turn off 3G if you want to save battery life.

Thats true bro, but Im always around a wifi hotspot which means my wifi is always on. I assume it should drain as much battery right? But I guess 3G networks have different dynamics even if you aren't using data. I love the current battery life. Hope it gets better with iOS 6.

Yup, turning off 3G (or in your case, not actually having it) can result in a reduced usage in battery life. I wouldn't be surprised if you got more, if you turned off WiFi. If anyone else is wanting a similar effect, you can download Auto3G from Cydia (not sure if its still supported) but it swaps from 3G to EDGE when you lock and unlock your device.

I'm on Three UK so in my area edge is fairly absent, its either 3G or nothing as far as I've noticed so the app itself is fairly useless to me.

Also, it may be worth mentioning that absence of a mobile signal, or low signal could result in a larger battery usage as your mobile attempts to search for a signal. In no signal areas its worth sticking your phone in aeroplane mode.

It's still there. However, it doesn't support iOS 5.

I got my iPhone 4s yesterday, brand new from my iSP. I'm going to see how long the battery lasts. I'm always in a 3G area. But i'd say around 80% of my day is in WiFi hot spots, where the phone is connected all the time.

Not bad, guess it really is how you use your device to get high numbers. You could also try a restore every release, that helps.

I have a jailbroken 4s with 5.1.1 .... I take phone off charger at 8am and around 12pm I'm at 98%. By 5pm I'm around 80%. I think that's great battery life.
