OWC has a 512 GB SSD for sale for $299:

512GB Micron RealSSD C400 Self-Encrypting 2.5" SATA
6Gb/s SSD - IBM OEM Labeled, Brand New with 90 Day
OWC Fulfilled Warranty.

Has anybody had experience with this unit to judge its reliability, quality, etc?

I just looked now and its $329.

The 90 day warranty is shockingly short. Usually an SSD warranty is measured in years, not days.

That's the same as the Crucial M4... a very solid (last gen) SSD. They go for $400 on Amazon with a 3 year warranty.

Well...here's a reality check. Purchased in Oct 2013 - DIED Sept 2015. No mfg warranty beyond the 90day OWC one. Even if there was, the IBM wty is only 1 year on their devices.
Went and purchase Samsung 850EVO with 5 year wty - a few years of peace of mind. Thank goodness for TimeMachine!!
