If it's an opened model, does that mean it was resisted therefore starting the one-year warranty before you purchased the item?

Anyhow, that's a great deal you got.

How does $1000 for the base model minus 10% equal $750?

I must be missing something here, haha.

It's $938.99 for a Macbook Air 11-inch base model currently at Best Buy USA (new).

So he must be getting a $100 discount for whatever reason (I suppose something to do with the student deals), and then 10% off after that as well. That's just my guess, if he did get it for $750.

That said, I believe Best Buy (and Futureshop/Best Buy in Canada) always has the deal where they will sell you a used product for 10% off the new price. I find it's never worth doing though. I'd rather spend the extra $70-$100 for a new product when its price is coming close to a full $1000. But that's just my opinion.

Not worth it in my opinion. Although, I will have to see the status of that MBA.

Since it was open box item, it is possible that warranty is not a full year, but less.

Apple currently sells refurbished MBA for 829 dollars. I would choose that over bestbuy.

But, I already bought my MBA 11 inch ultimate for 1060 dollars from apple, so why do I care... Shrugs.

All depends if the have an open boxed one at your local store, but I would probably do it, use that money towards a case or something

10% off open items does not equal to 10% off the list price of a new machine. Only means they're further reducing open items to shift them quickly.

The warranty period would have to be verified with Apple, but usually it starts from the date of purchase. Whether it's the first owner's purchase or yours, is a question for Best Buy and Apple. I suspect if you turned up at a Genius bar with your receipt from Best Buy, they'd honour that date?

Regardless, you can still get AppleCare and extend it to three years. Either way, it's a great deal. I suspect they're shifting these quickly before the new Airs arrive.

It's just odd... Canada's stock must be lower or something (so maybe they don't need to get rid of as many)... but we have none of these sales going on. It's all regular like it was when the stuff was released.

They did for me. All I had to do was provide the purchase receipt and show them the date I purchased it; which was 8 months from the in service date.
