Well I just got back from the apple store w/ a new battery and a big smile on my face. My computer started shutting down when I pulled the power supply out about a week ago w/ a fully charged battery(264 cycles). I did all the things you were supposed to do like resetting pram and the hold the power button down for 5 secs w/ no battery and still no difference. So today I head over to the Apple store in Town Ctr in Boca Raton to see what they could do. First guy i talk to says i have to make an appointment. Earliest appointment is for following day(Dammmmm). So a second guy walks over and asks if i need help as im filling out appointment info. He says lets look at on the table w/ other macbook pros(mind you the "genius bar" was packed). So we plug it into a charger on display and it starts up-pull power cord and it shuts off. Grabs his lil walkie talkie and orders up a new battery from the back room. A minute later a guy walks out, scans the new battery-gives me a reciept and says have a nice day. Total of about 7 minutes in store. theres my happy Apple store story to go against all the bad stuff you usually hear about them. Oh and my battery serial # was not part of recall either. Happy day oh happy day.....
