here is a logo I'm making for my friends non-profit project, called the green mitten project. This is the first version so let me know what I should change.

Have you thought about kerning the "Project" more to spread completely across the "GREENMITTEN" or even possibly kerning it less so that it would fit directly under the "MITTEN" ?

Personally I like it. The above are just suggestions to play around with.

I thought that if I put "project" under Mitten with the Michigan logo it might be to heavy on that side.

But I'm going to give it a go!

Michigan logo
Oh thats what that green blob is on the right - sorry but maybe its due to being UK based but I didn't even think it was (I assume) a state

I have to say the first thing that popped into my head when I read the thread title was a green 'glove' rather than a typed logo.

For me personally the 'project' is lost in too much white space and could possibly be lost on smaller sizes.

Have you considered reversing the weights of the green and grey letters.

I actually think 'project' is spaced too far out - it's a bit difficult to read.

I like the idea of putting it under 'Mittens,' as the eye would naturally follow that path when reading the logo.

If balance is an issue, try shrinking 'Green' a little bit and putting it on top of "mittens".

Analness/Nitpickery: check your kerning in 'Green' - The "GR" looks a bit spaced out to me. Also, double check "ITTE" in Mitten, as it appears to be a little uneven.

Nice work.

I think it's great except for what others have said: project is too difficult to read when kerned so far apart is the main problem (if it were a larger word or string of words it might have worked, but even then it'd have to be aligned with the width of GreenMitten, not centered underneath).

I'd smush it back together under mitten as others have suggested.. but I do not alike the idea of the N/M ligature or closely kerning 'green' and 'mitten' as that's just been done and done and done.

I think anyone in the states would know that it is Michigan!:D

I will fix the kerning on the project part!

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Have you played with a version where the state map is actually more stylized, like making it a pair of mittens that sit at the right orientations to look like the two pieces of Michigan?

I think the spaced out PROJECT becomes too hard to read also. I think so far I like the second one from the top in your latest post best....

Have you not tried a sentence-case or lower-case version?
I think that would bring an element of friendliness to go with the 'green' aspect

Logo looks great but the use of the gray color doesn't seem appealing. Try other colors that contrast the green maybe?

I never thought about it before, but Michigan does look like a mitten! :D

yeah, what you think about my logo. My world religion teacher enlighten me to the global climate change. I'm gonna produce a series of flash animations, I'll post it.
