My imac is in my bedroom-- whenever I am tempted to use it, the incredibly wide angle of the webcam reveals things that I'd rather not show to a television audience. So generally I default to audio only.

I'm tempted to "film" in front of a green screen, but I'm afraid that the angle of the camera will still manage to capture beyond the edges of the screen. Anybody know the angle of view?

Are there better webcams with a more usable focal length available for not a lot of money?

Thanks.

A TV audience? You go on TV through a webcam? Wha?!

The webcam in the iMac is bad enough that you'd need a hell of a lot of light for it to not be too grainy to properly work with a green screen anyway. I don't have any advice on any specific products or the angle of the camera, but you definitely want to look into other options
