I remember someone wanted to see how the standalone packaging for the Sports Armband looks like, so here are a couple of photographs I took of the one I received today. :)

Quick thoughts:

- For 'just a band' the package that UPS delivered is quite large.

- Apple's own packaging is absolutely beautiful. It gives you the feeling that they tried wholeheartedly (and succeeded) to impart worth to the accessory, against their price of €59 (US $66).

- Green might not be for everyone and the color you see will vary depending on your display, but I can tell you, in reality it is really, really nice. It's more of a matte lime green than fluorescent. The steel parts of the band testify Apple's dedication to perfection.

- The material. Oh the material. This was the first time I felt the sports band in my hand. I cannot possibly describe how light, soft, suave and premium the silicon feels.

Neat, thanks for sharing! To go green, or not to go green...

You're very welcome :) I got the blue Leather Loop to wear with my SS Watch for everyday use. I was just checking out some pictures on another thread, I think it's a beautiful color too. I'm gonna use the Sports band for... well... sports. :p

Thanks for posting, ordered a green sports band too for my SS with leather buckle. I want to keep the leather buckle in tip top shape so when hiking at the weekend I was wishing the sports band had turned up.

I think it's sensible to give the watch and strap a good wash after anything that makes you sweat just to keep the salt from building up in the crown if nothing else and the sports band means that's easier and you can wear the watch without the salt factor on the leather bands.

The band looks really nice, mine has shipped and I'm looking forward to it :)

That's a great idea! I'd say a quick 5 seconds run under the tap before and after rigorous sports.

The box that the classic leather buckle comes in is quite nice too. Really feels like you're opening a high end bracelet.

Changed my black sports band to green two days ago. IM only going to wear my sport band when I'm working out so that's how I'm justifying that choice. My black leather loop will be my every day band

Would someone be willing to post a picture of the green sport on your arm? I wanted to try one on in the store but they only had white to try and I'm curious to see how it looks on. I'm still trying to decide what to get

My green band turned up today and at first I thought I had a bad one.

The strap would slide in but wouldn't lock, poked the moving part out and it came out in a fully locked position but put the strap back on and it didn't click and just slid out again. This was happening on both sides and my Classic Leather loop was still locking like a dream.

Put the band back in and pressed the release button a couple of times on both sides and it finally seemed to lock.

Now I pop the strap on and it locks immediately.

It looks like there may be some initial stickiness around the movement of the pin but once it's settled in all is good and wow, it's really comfy :)
