Hello,

I experience a grey line on the right side of the screen (Landscape mode) of my new IPP 12.9. Not seen with white background and full brightness. Any idea what could cause it?

Turn the screen upside Down in landscape mode
If the line moves from the right to the left side it's the LCD panel assembly
If it stays put it's the controller

Either way it needs to be replaced.

Any application seen. Its seen best right down, like a grey shadow. It stays the same and is just fading with white background and full brightness. Best seen on grey pictures. Not bothering too much. Maybe it is the lamination.

Being it seems it's abnormal according to others, I would still take advantage of the warranty replacement while you have it. Especially since you just purchased it not that long ago.

I have the same issue with my 12.9 iPad Pro. So only me and the OP have this problem?

I suppose I will ask for a new unit then if this is not normal.

I did just check two demo-models in the store and they have also a very thin grey line on the right side (Home button side) in landscape mode. It looks it is from lamination, because with backlight to max its not seen. Maybe just some users are even not noticing it.

Are you referring to the spot at the very edge of the display? I see that it's a little lighter at the dock, but if you hadn't pointed it out, I don't think I would have noticed... my 12.9 iPad should arrive this week.. I'll see if I notice that on mine.

So you are keeping it like this?

Yes. I will keep mine. Anyway it is just seen when its darker backlight and when you really put attention to it.

My 12.9, bought a week ago, has this same problem. It's most prominent on the edge of the display by the home button, but also visible, though slightly fainter, on the camera-side edge. There's nothing on the other two sides. As noted, it's most apparent when viewing grey or mid-range colours.

I'm within the return window, so it'll be going back.
