Hey everyone,

Periodically when I review my iTunes/iPhone music library, tracks from Apple Music will be greyed out that I had previously downloaded to my devices. When I search this song in Apple Music it will also be greyed out. When I try to play the song it will say it cannot be played. Is this due to DRM and rights changes within Apple Music Canada when a song is no longer available to be streamed for one reason or another? Also sometimes I am able to find the song in Apple Music available to play as a single etc it just won't be available on the specific album it is greyed out on.

Or is there another problem going on?

Thanks for any assisstance!

I find that sometimes a song or an album becomes unavailable from Apple Music for one reason or another. Sometimes, songs are not linenced to play back over certain devices or through certain methods. Ie. steaming to a device over WiFi instead of Bluetooth etc.
Apple Music is the worst streaming/subscription service of the majors, but it is the most convenient for the iOS platform. Don’t even get me started on the havoc it’s reaped on my personal music mixed in with Apple downloads. Incomplete meta data etc.

I'd think it has to do with licensing of the song. Odd enough the fact that I bought this song from iTunes Store, I also get the same message that the content is not available. I always thought that if the licensing issue were to be the case, I'd be able to play it anyway since I bought from the store. The only way I can listen to it on Music app is when changing the search criteria to my library instead of Apple Music.

I should also mention that I'm using US iTunes and Apple Music.

Same problem with Candle in the Wind (2018 Version) - Ed Sheeran in Apple Music Thailand as well.
