I have my 17" MBP sitting on an elevator at work with a full sized keyboard in front of it and I could not be happier with the set up. One cannot really see the elevator beneath my MBP. The Buy.com price listed above is quite good. I bought mine at "full price" from my local Apple store.

Good find. I liked the iCurve but the Elevator looks like it would be good with MBPs since it's aluminum too? But I guess the clear iCurve looked cooler as if your computer was floating.

I am still torn on whether or not I want this. I love my icurve and just tossed the box after holding it for 1.5 years so if I sold it best I could get is probably $20 ish. But still....I'm considering buying since it's free shipping and $10 off using google checkout and then testing the waters.

Is this for heat?

My 17" C2D MBP doesn't even get hot... I can use it on my lap all day long and nothing. No fan, it just doesn't get hot. It's weird. :)

While this is a good price, I'm still happy about purchasing a used iCurve for $25 shipped. Why? It just LOOKS better. And if you are going to be buying a stand like one of these looks is probably why you're interested in the first place. The iCurve will just look so much better with my clear cinema display, clear Griffin Soundsticks, and Clear glass desk :)

I never bought it for heat issues on my PB Rev D. I bought it because I wasn't using an external display and it lifted the book up to eye level. I got a major neck ache the day I got my PB as I took 4 days off work and never left the new toy. Now, it's eye level and it's my 2nd display when I want to watch TV or something. I hardly using it as a second display for "work" purposes you know. Though it does house the photoshop menus quite well.

Anyway no, not for heat as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't hurt though to let the air pass through the bottom.

I am planning to purchase a Griffin Elevator so this looks like a good deal to take advantage of, but is "Buy.com" a place to trust? I never heard of this place before. Have anybody purchase anything there?

I purchased a Logitech VX Revolution from Buy.com with GCO for $40 shipped :D . They are a reliable company.

Buy.com is a great company to deal with. I've probably spent hundreds there without a hitch. "Probably" because I can't remember where I buy my stuff :p

Looks interesting but I agree, iCurve is teh sexy. I might buy an Elevator, but just not now. Have to pay off my MBP first...
