iPhone Group Facetime

I have tried doing Group FaceTime on multiple phones. For the life of me I can’t get it to work. It just says waiting. I know the person has their phone right there with them. Anyone else have a Group FaceTime issue?

Been an issue for me since it came out last year.

Everyone has to have a compatible device and OS though

Has anyone been able to host 5 or more people consecutively on a Group FaceTime call?
When our family tries Group FaceTime someone always drops Video or Audio. (We are all on the same router if that makes a difference.)

Not sure how this is a reliable solution.
Is there a minimum bandwidth required per user?

Just this past weekend, we were able to get our family from across the Globe on group FT without any issues. We had 6 different families join from different places. The quality and experience was awesome!

Had 6 on last week for my granddaughter’s 16th Birthday. We were scattered around the state. Worked perfectly. Combination of iPhones and iPads.

OK, must not work to all be behind the same Wi-Fi router. I will need to test using cellular.

Last weekend my family used it from 6 different homes/parts of the nation and it work perfectly. First time I've used it like that and was happy with the outcome.

I gotta try this again. Last time I tried, about a year ago, everyone was stuck on waiting.

So apparently after you select the individuals to FaceTime, you have to go back into the list and ring them each individually or they’ll be stuck on “waiting” in the main screen. Something I didn’t know and glad I figured it out by playing around with it. Works good now.

We have a group text and my sister just did a group call from there...worked great!
