NEW IPHONE 12 PRO FOR ONE WEEK: NEED ADVICE ON IOS/MMS GROUP FORMATIONS. i am getting used to the new ios platform (switch from samsung because i of the nicer camera)....HOWEVER, there are a few features where i feel like i have gone back in time (android was definitely more sophisticated on MANY levels).... 1) WHY can't I NAME a GROUP messaging group? I want to be able to NAME my groups so i don't have trouble searching for them to send a text. Most of my groups include iphone and android users so i know it's a MMS message vs an iMessage but i should still be able to have a group message named...AND if this is a feature that Apple doesn't support I will be possibly returning this phone. To me, this is a very BASIC feature of a phone. I have created groups in my icloud in my contacts but that doesn't help...can't access them to send messages. AND 2) how do i adjust individual volumes? for instance, i want to be able to control the volume on my ringer separately from the volume on my notifications, separately from my volume for media.....again, a feature android has had for years and very helpful. I'm pretty good on technology and have done alot of trouble shooting so any of you techies out there have any advice? thanks!

You cannot change group names with a mix of text and iMessage.

Sounds and haptics>Renters and alerts will be notification and call volume. Click the “change with buttons” off. Then the volume buttons will adjust media. There is no way to change all volumes like android has. That is a nice feature

I found this out recently and came to this thread from the search function.

This is absolutely ridiculous as even my first android phone in 2009 let you name whatever you want, whatever you want.

I have two main SMS\MMS groups. One is for work, the other is for joking around, non work related. Both of them have a lot of the same people but not all. They are almost impossible to tell apart unless I look at the members list. This to me is one of those features like the control center and widgets that was added years after the fact. Hell I'm pretty sure I could name groups on a flip phone back in the day

Does anybody know of an app, (without ads) that will let me name a regular SMS group messages just like every other phone in the world is capable of?
