Okay, I just need to know whether the apple headphones you get with the 1st gen iPhone are included in the 1 year warranty?

I was walking to work today listening to my J-Pop and one headphone started jumping and crackling and now it's completley dead. Only one headphone works now :-(

I want to go get them replaced but dunno if I can?
Also would I have to take any proof of purchase etc to the apple store with me aswell?
It was my dad who bought me it last year and I don't think he'll be bothered to come with me lol.

My headphones did the same thing and I got them replaced under warranty. Why wouldn't they be covered?
