Being 15...it's not easy making money. My only source of income is £15 a month for ''pocket money'' and £25 a week from a paper round. Now to you this may seem okay, but it's not! It's going to take forever to get cash to get an iMac! Even then it's the choice to go for the 2GHz 17" or 2.16GHz 20" one! My birthday's in November which should get me a few hundred (fingers crossed) and I may just ask for money from my parents instead of an Xbox 360. And then there's Christmas which could mean a bit more money, especially from paper round tips. But even then, it's gonna seem like forever!

Anyone got any ideas of how I can make money? I even signed up to Ciao but I haven't got any survey invites yet so that's not going well. Please help me!

Amen.

Claim to have ADHD to your doctor and sell the Adderal at school.
I know a lot of kids who do that.

Rake leaves/shovel snow, I don't know what your climate is like though. I used to make a lot of money babysitting when I was in high school. Then once I turned 16 I got a job at Best Buy, I don't know how old you have to be to work where you live though. Good luck, took me quite a bit of time to save up as well!

Amazing I knew someone who did that last year! On top of that, perhaps make a bulletin that you are looking for work with a decent pay. You may be surprised at what comes up...

Well, since I live in the Uk and 18, I can guide you somewhat.

First and foremost, ask in local pubs that serve food if they require any staff such as pot washing/waitering. the money isnt too bad and its cash in hand. Its what I did for 4 months at £4.50/hr. But, until you get your NI (national insurance) card, no major company will take you on for Health and safety. Sucks I know.

Now, I work at mcdonalds for 4.45, which is still crap pay considering, but in a month I earn around £320 give or take. I dont know what paper rounds are like for cash, but im guessing 25 a month is pretty crap.

Dont forget, good things come to those who wait. By the time birthday and xmas have passed, along with a better paid job, iMacs should see a speed update and/or a price decrease.

You guys still make pretty good money - minimum wage here in AZ is $5.15 an hour - what is that, like 2.75 pounds/hr? Pretty ******. I make $7.75/hr at my university work study job, that's probably like 4 pounds/hr. Be glad you guys, you make more than most American kids! Then again stuff is prob. more expensive over there...

working at mcd's doesn't sound enticing, but i did it and made a ton of cash for my age. the great thing about mcd's..at least here in canada, is that they are totally accomodating for extra activities such as sports so it was dead easy to pick up extra shifts.

selling stuff on ebay is one option and saving money is the other.
if you want it, you will find ways to make it happen.

my opinion is that you should get a job as it is. helps with responsibility, chance to make some great friends and you get your own spending money and if you really want, save money for later in life. it's no offense to you at all, but it's absolutely mind blowing to me that alot of ppl your age don't have jobs. almost everyone i knew when i was 15, was working. times have changed...

good luck!

Making bling and g's

When I was 15 or so, I did as many jobs as I could to make money. I babysat the neighbor kids, I mowed lawns, shoveled snow, raked leaves, and walked neighbor's dogs. All those jobs paid a little, but it wasn't until I got a job at the local college's cafeteria that I actually got a better stream of income. Food service places always hire young kids around 14 and older. Look into that--especially school/college cafeterias.

Thanks everyone for your help :D

I'm gonna sell my old PS2 on eBay...that should fetch around 100 hopefully. I'm also gonna do some jobs for neighbors when possible, but I think car washing is out of the question because we have a hosepipe ban :(

I also might try to get a job soon, because I hear they employ around Christmas time. I do have my National Insurance Number by the way!

Crack whore sound enticing? I dunno how much it pays but you could try...

My parents are sponsoring my 20" iMac yay, but most of the money is from insurance (Broken iBook). Try getting your parents convinced that the Mac is a study aid and you need it to pass school!

Well yeah, Apple products are!! a Macbook starts at £749 (US$1406) work that one out.

A 500ml bottle of coke for example, that ranges from 80p to £1 (Us$1.5-1.8)

BigMac Meal (sorry) £3.19 (US$5.98)

One good thing about mcdonalds is the employee discounts. And guess whos on the list... yup, Apple. upto 17% off new products.

i work to pay for my car, the parentals pay for the rest :D but I do like having cash to burn. But i enjoy watching it grow too. mmm money..

Tax wise, I dont, because I earn just shy of £90 a week. Over that, and your money goes to Tax and national insurance.

Ha yeah forgot about that! but its winter now so ground water levels will rise, and with all this rain we have recently... grr!! Car washing though is still good because you normally find people cant be bothered to do it. So if you offer a good service for less than the cheapo wash at the petrol station (remember, they have to use fuel to get there, and thats still pretty pricey) you're good to go!

But seeing as you have your NI card, go get a job!! Earning your own money is great, yet a pain. BUT, you get to buy Apple stuff, so all's good!

I really think that this is the best idea. You could would probably make more money in a day selling drugs than you could selling papers for a month.

A Stoned Throw From Ground Zero
Smart kids around here put flyers in people's townhouse front doors advertising
$10.00 per lawn.

It takes them about 30 minutes per yard.

Leaves, gutters, deck washing, washing windows all the stuff people are too busy
or too lazy to do for themselves.

Dog walking service is cool too if you're good with pets.

All of these can be done with a very cheap simple 2 line ad in your local paper.
