If the rumors are true about the 16/32/64 gig models, what do you think would be the price for each? Off and On contract. I'm looking to get the 64 gig model off contract. I'm thinking $100 will separate each model.

Hopefully we can get the 64 gb version here in the USA. I know with the S3 not all carriers sold the 64 gb version for some reason.
I'm going to assume they'll stick to the prior model. $550-$650 for the 16gb model. Add $100 for each step up. That's off contract. $200 on contract for the 16gb.
The leaked benchmarks pointed to 16 & 32. I doubt we will get a 64gb version unless they drop support for microSD.
Did any US carriers actually have a version higher than 16gb? Or was it only international?
I thought Verizon or T-Mobile had the larger ones for a while. I could be mistaken, but I was pretty sure.

Apparently the above poster says T-Mobile has a 32gb model. However, I know AT&T offered the 16gb model only. But there is expandable memory. I will buy the 64gb version in a heartbeat if one makes its way to AT&T. Just hoping Samsung doesn't skimp out on us, and leave out the Octacore processor in the US variants of the S4.
Usually off contract will fall between $650-$700; However, for some weird reason att seems to offer new phones online for $100 cheaper than in store prices. The note 2 is $550 online, but $650 in store.
That reminds me of a question I'm curious about:
What things can and can't go on the SD card? I'm wondering why everyone doesn't just get the 16gb version and then add an SD card. But I'm guessing there must be a reason, right?
Some apps like to be installed on main storage, other than that most things can use the SD.
I think the main thing is this arc's back to a time when SD cards were expensive so it was often same price to opt for the bigger storage option directly... Whereas now they are much cheaper so it's not so much of a big deal.
All apps go into internal phone storage by default. I have tons of apps and it barely takes up any space. I do have two games that take up over 1gb each. Real Racing 3 at 1.19gb and NFS Most Wanted at 1.85gb.
Even though I'm rooted and can easily move those onto my external sd storage, but I prefer them on internal phone storage to avoid any reliability issues.
Right now I have 6.66gb of free space on my internal phone storage. For someone who's slightly OCD about free space, I'd rather have more. I would be happy with 32gb, but 64gb internal and external would be amazing.
Basically there is no REAL reason to need more space. At least for me at the moment. I just want more.

Three of the four major US carriers offer both 16/32GB variants of the Galaxy S3. The only major carrier that doesn't carry a 32GB variant is AT&T. The 64GB version of the Galaxy S3 was cancelled, due to lack of demand apparently?

It's kind of annoying because they don't price match in store what they offer online =/
i wish samsung and apple werent always trying to out-spec each other and would just concentrate on making the phones better. The s3 would be a perfect phone if they just improved the battery life significantly, improved the LTE radio, axed the physical home button, put the power button on top and improved the speakers and put them on the bottom.
What would you replace the home button with? A captive button would be hit too easily don't you think? Honestly we shouldn't expect too much from phone speakers, I would happily take crappy speakers over better battery life any day of the week. Then again, at least with the S3 you can put a larger battery or at least swap batteries if needed, which is a lot better than a lot of phones out there.
This is exactly why you can't please everyone. I think the power button is perfectly placed on the GS3. I see nothing wrong with the LTE radio, maybe it's your carrier and area. If you have a problem with LTE, that can also be a reason you think battery life sucks. If they do get rid of the physical home button, I hope it's on the bezel and not on the screen itself.
It's WAY to easy to hit the volume button at the same time as you hit the power button because of placement and vice versa. I get 4 bars LTE with my super old thunderbolt where I barely get a signal with the s3.
I never have that problem. And you should have your GS3 looked at if you think there is a problem with the LTE. LTE has been rock solid for me.
