I've had this weird bug for a while now; wondering if anyone else has seen it or if I alone am cursed with it!

Notice the GSM test number appears briefly every time the phone app is launched. Why the heck would this even be possible? I haven't even used that number in years.

I'm on iOS 9.3 beta 4, but this has been happening since at least 9.1 non-beta.

Jeesh...my phone does that too. Would have never noticed without your post.

I've observed that if you enter the phone app with a different window open (e.g., Contacts), and then switch to keypad, it doesn't happen.

As a WAG, it looks like a pre-initialized variable that gets cleared on startup. The variable shouldn't be initialized. Might be some beta (or alpha) #ifdef code (assuming Objective C uses #ifdef). An easy bug to fix, if the right people get notified. Probably low priority, though.

Some "cached" number appearing like that or sometimes appearing in the recent app switcher has been something some people have been coming across for some time.
