OK...

I am trying to find similar comparisons. The refurb with 8800 is only 1599... which even to me looks like a great deal. Yet I am trying to find the two comparisons that work.

Searching is yielding lots of trash so I am probably too stupid to use that feature :p

I figure on popping in 4gb of RAM and being done with it, since I am only spending 1600 I look at it this way, if a real upgrade comes out in August I won't be out much if anything.

The GT120=9500M, GT130=9600M. Assuming the 8800 in the previous model was a mobile version and not a desktop version, and Apple hasn't crippled the GT130 in some way (like when they underclocked the X1600) it should be considered an upgrade. Probably not a tremendously fast upgrade, but an upgrade nonetheless.

From another site, 8800 to 130

3Dmark06

* iMac mit Nvidia GT 130: 9452
* iMac mit Nvidia 8800 GS: 8248

XBench1.3

* iMac mit Nvidia GT 130:203,95
o Quartz Graphics Test: 254,79
o Open GL: 204,30
* iMac mit Nvidia 8800 GS: 188,95
o Quartz Graphics Test:247,48
o Open GL: 204,39

Still, 1599 versus 2199 is a jump :p

1599 for late model 3.06 8800gs to 2199 for the new one....
